Why should we use a Church Management System for church giving?
While in-person giving is still practiced in many churches, people now find it easier to contribute online. This is the main reason why you might want to use a Church Management System- because it facilitates online giving collection from members, anytime, anywhere, and from any device. What giving options are there with ChMeetings?
With ChMeetings you can collect in-person giving using cash, checks, or envelopes. Of course, you can collect giving by card; for instance if you have a POS; and record it within ChMeetings.
In addition, you can collect giving online, where donors can use their credit cards, or transfer via ACH. Payments can be one-time or recurring (which donors can cancel anytime).
Can we ask donors to cover online giving fees?
Yes. You can enter the giving fee as a percentage or amount, and choose whether it should be selected by default on the online giving page. Donors can activate or deactivate this option as they see fit, depending on whether they are willing to cover the fees or not.
Can we import our giving history?
Yes. We have a dedicated tool that lets you import your giving history when you begin using ChMeetings. If you choose any paid plan, we’ll even handle the import for you, for free. Learn more.
Can we generate tax statements for donors?
Definitely. Statements are easily generated from a dedicated section, from where you can either email or print them. You can customize statement templates to fit your needs, including by adding specific fields.
Does giving work in my country?
What are transaction fees for online giving?
ChMeetings charges no giving transaction fees whatsoever.
You pay no fees for in-person, check or cash giving that you record manually.
If you set up online giving, you will not pay fees to ChMeetings, but you will need a payment processor to collect funds online. So, the payment processor you choose will charge the fees. We integrate with Stripe and PayPal. Their fees may change, so the best way to know them is to visit the pricing page of your chosen payment provider:
Is it easy to record giving to our accounting?
Yes, it is. ChMeetings comes with its own Accounting module and you can easily deposit contribution batches to it. If you use an external accounting system, you can easily export contributions data as a spreadsheet, and then import it to your tool of choice.
