ChMeetings Updates for October 2025
October brought a round of improvements that fine-tune ChMeetings in some important areas; from automation and accounting to events, forms, and communication. Let’s explore what’s been happening in ChMeetings this past month:
Accounting: Smarter Transaction Imports & Clearer Budgets
Accounting works smarter thanks to two new updates to transaction imports, and budget reports, respectively
- Duplicate Detection: When importing transactions, any entries that look like duplicates are now marked so you can review them before completing the import. You can also filter to see only duplicates or only unique records. Detection is based on whether transactions have the same date and the same amount.
- Receipt Scan: Easily scan receipts to attach them as PDFs to accounting transactions.
- Budget Comparison by Target & Actual: The Budget Comparison Report now shows both Target and Actual amounts. This gives you a straightforward view of how your spending and income compare to what you planned.
.

Events: Simpler, Safer Check-In for Families
The child and family check-in process has been improved in terms of user experience and security:
- Name tag printing settings are now grouped together in one place when you add or edit an event.
- Security codes can use different formats, (letters, numbers, or both) depending on what works best for your setup.
- Shared family codes mean parents can use a single code for all their children, making pickup quicker and easier.
Profiles & Forms with More Flexibility and Control
A few updates make it easier to keep information more organized and accurate in both People Profile Fields, and Forms:
- Form Submission Notifications: You can now alert anyone (users, members, or groups) when a form is submitted, by email or push notification.
- Number Field Limits: In both Forms and Profile Number Fields, you can define minimum and maximum values for number fields, helping prevent incorrect entries.
- Dynamic Dropdown Fields These new fields let you create lists with main and sub-options, keeping profile data tidy and consistent. This feature is available in People Profile Fields.
Webhooks for Real-Time Data Sharing
Under Settings > Integrations, you can now find the new Webhooks feature. Its purpose is to allow ChMeetings to send real-time notifications externally, when certain actions take place. For example, when people are added, updated, deleted, or when contributions are recorded in ChMeetings, another system can get notified.
This is useful when integrating with external services or building custom workflows, based on these notifications. At the moment, webhooks are available when people are created, updated, or deleted, and when contributions are created.

Other Highlights
- Contributions: There’s a new merge field that allows you to show total fees on contribution statements.
- API: The People API now includes native names, and the Contributions API includes batch numbers.
- Branded App: Group chats now support up to 1,000 members.
Coming Soon
- Worship Planning for better organized church services. This feature replaces the existing Service Plans and offers more options like a song library, volunteer assignments, rehearsal scheduling, and more.
- Text giving to allow people to give to your church via text messages.
- Background checks for enhanced security.
These updates focus on accuracy, clarity, and everyday ease of use. For more information on each feature, visit the Help Center or check the Release Notes for more frequent news.
