Grow Members’ Scripture Engagement with a Built-In Bible
Us, church admins, know how important daily Scripture reading is for spiritual growth. But encouraging members to stay consistent isn’t easy. Many rely on various apps or printed material that get lost in the shuffle, so it’s easy to miss readings, lose track of progress, and feel disconnected from the church’s shared spiritual journey. The solution to this challenge is to make it as easy as possible for members to read the Bible. This is why ChMeetings built it right into your church app, so members can have it at their fingertips, alongside the other ways they can connect to your church via our app. The Bible feature was recently updated, so we’d love to tell you more about it.
Facilitate Members’ Spiritual Growth
The Bible feature in ChMeetings puts Scripture directly into the same platform your members already use for events, groups, communication, and other church activities. There are no extra apps or tools needed, and it’s always accessible anytime, anywhere, on web and mobile. For admins, this means you can support your congregation’s spiritual growth without asking them to juggle multiple apps or tools, greatly enhancing their church experience.
But this feature doesn’t just mean that we added the Bible text to our app. It’s a richly-featured learning tool that offers members a variety of options to help them progress more effectively:
- Choose the preferred Bible Version from four available options.
- Read in their language: The Bible text displays in the member’s app language with no additional setup required.
- Set the font size according to their preference or accessibility needs.
- Browse books and chapters by just tapping on the one readers want to read or using quick navigation arrows that take them to the previous or next chapter.
- Use several verse-related options like bookmarks, highlights, or notes. These are all accessible for later exploration within a central History section.
- Copy verses with one click or tap, and share anywhere.
These options help members read more effectively and facilitate a smoother learning journey by providing all the tools they need in one place.
Make the Bible Accessible for Members
The Bible feature is available to all churches subscribed to any paid plan, via the App Builder.
You can add the Bible to your app by going to Member Portal > Builder > Menu Setup. All you need to do here is drag the Bible card from Hidden Pages to Visible Pages, and select who should be able to access it: Members, Guests, or both. You can edit the page and change its name and icon. Feel free to also drag it to your desired position within the app menu. Save your changes when done, and you’re all set. Members will find the Bible within their main app menu, in your chosen position.
Grow Your Community with Bible Reading
The Bible can become a great way to bring people together. Here is how you can grow your church community with Bible reading:
- Encourage Members to Explore: Let members know they can access the full text of The Scripture inside ChMeetings; highlighting that it’s available in multiple versions and languages.
- Promote Reading Plans: Suggest members to follow a reading plan to keep a steady rhythm. Create dedicated Events and share reminders through Groups, or Notifications so your congregation stays connected to their reading journey.
- Foster Community Engagement: Tie Bible reading into small group activities or church-wide challenges. Use the feature as a way to unify members around The Scripture, right inside the same tool they use to connect with your church.
Be Part of Your Members’ Journeys!
Bringing the Bible into the same platform as your other church work brings everything together into a cohesive spiritual journey that connects your church and members. It’s yet another great way to build community with ChMeetings and make a real difference in people’s lives.
If you’d like to help your members get to know the Bible feature, we prepared a guide to help them do just that. We encourage you to send it to members when letting them know about the feature. If you need assistance, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team.
