ChMeetings Updates for September 2025

September has been a month for many detail-oriented updates. We’ve focused on giving you more ways to customize, search, and manage data, while also strengthening how you interact with members. From accounting tools to events, forms, and APIs, these changes are all about reducing manual work and making your processes more efficient. Let’s take a closer look at what’s new.

Accounting

The latest accounting updates let you manage finances with more ease, and enhance the accuracy of your records. 

  • Search Import Rules: If you’ve built up a long list of import rules, you can now search them by keyword. This small but powerful addition helps you quickly find the exact rule you need without scrolling through the entire list.

  • New Rule Actions and Notes: Rules are now more versatile. You can:
    • Automatically set categories and funds.
    • Skip transactions that match certain criteria.
    • Add rule notes, which will appear as line item notes on import. If an imported transaction already includes a note, your rule won’t overwrite it.

  • Filter Imports by Rule Match Status: When reviewing transactions under Accounts > Import Transactions, you can now double-check the accuracy of your rules by filtering transactions according to a “Matched” or “Unmatched” status.

  • Filter Categories by Type: Under Accounting > Categories, categories can now be filtered by Income or Expense, giving you a clearer breakdown of your financial structure.category filters -

 

Events

The Event module now gives you more flexibility when it comes to recurring events management, and kiosk mode. 

  • Edit Event Occurrence Dates: Recurring events no longer lock you into a fixed pattern. You can now edit the date of each occurrence individually; whether you need to move a Saturday event to a Sunday or shift a single session to another day. Updates will be reflected across ChMeetings, wherever the event appears, including app builder cards and member accounts.edit occurrence date -
  • Kiosk Mode Member Search by Name: The Kiosk Mode now supports member searches by name. This option can be enabled or disabled in the Kiosk Mode Lock Settings. Just keep in mind that when changing event dates, attendees and volunteers do not receive an automatic notification. To avoid confusion, we recommend sending emails or push notifications to communicate date changes.kiosk -

 

Forms & Profile Fields

Forms and Profile Fields now offer more features and are keeping members more informed. We made updates to conditional fields, and enhanced the submission confirmation emails.

  • Conditional Fields with Multiple Selections: The Show only If option now supports multiple selections. This allows you to display specific fields based on various submission choices for the same field.fields -  
  • Full Fields List in Form Submission Email Notifications: When enabled in the form settings, servants will receive notification emails containing all fields from each form submission. For signatures, the email will display “Signed,” and for attachments, it will show “Attached,” without including the actual files. Previously, members only received a link to ChMeetings where they could view their submission. This link still remains in place.forms email -

 

Giving

Import Giving from Vanco: If you are using Vanco as a giving provider, you can now import giving data faster and easier, via a dedicated template. You can access it under Settings > Tools > Import Giving > Provider.

Branded App

Your branded app is now more engaging and easier to manage: We made updates to the Group Chat feature, as well as to the Media Library.

  • Group Chat Conversation Photos: Personalize group chats by adding photos to new conversations, making it easier for participants to recognize and engage with the group.conv photo -  
  • Bulk Actions in the Media Library: You can now select multiple files in the Media Library and move them to another series, remove them from the current series, or delete them all at once.medialibrary actions -

 

API Updates

We’ve expanded API capabilities to enable you to create more powerful integrations:

  • People API Enhancements: We made it easier to manage member data via API, and you can now add, update, and delete People records in ChMeetings.
  • Families API: A brand-new Families API provides more control over family structures. You can:
    • GET family roles
    • GET and POST families
    • GET and DELETE family IDs
    • POST and PUT family members
    • DELETE and PATCH family member IDs.
  • Documentation Revamp: Our API documentation has been updated and reorganized for easier navigation. This should make it simpler to implement these new endpoints and explore more exciting integrations with ChMeetings.

This month’s updates are meant to reduce repetitive work, improve flexibility, and give you more control over how you manage both financial and member data. From detailed financial filters to smarter forms and expanded APIs, each change is aimed at making your day-to-day workflows smoother.
